best way to get car from Nice

Flying to Nice and getting in around 2 p.m. this Saturday and we were wanting to stay the night and then drive down toward the St. Remy area. We were just going to get the car at the airport and drive to a small town for the night but now I'm wondering if we should just go in to Nice and stay the night. If we do that, where would we get the car. What would be easiest? Only have 3 days so we don't want to linger too long. Also, if we drive the coastal way down to St. Remy and just stop for lunch, how long would it take? Longer than 3 hours?

I suggest booking now for either plan. When I fly from Seattle, I arrive in Europe pretty jet lagged and don't tend to accomplish much, but a stroll around Nice's promenade and old town would be feasible. If you stay in Nice, you can take bus #99 from the airport to the central train station, where there are plenty of hotels (such as Ibis) as well as car rental offices. That's not right near the walking area, but one spot can't do everything.

I suppose any other coastal town could also have enough to entertain you for one evening, if Nice is not high on your list.

We are in Nice now. Train and bus interruptions. Some construction for an event on the promenade this weekend. Just don't count on busses. If you have not scheduled in Nice may want to
Rethink.
