Best Transportation from Gare Du Nord, Paris to Rue De La Expo

My wife and I are traveling from London to Paris via the chunnel and will arrive with 2-3 bags. What is the best way to get to our hotel on Rue De La Expo in the Rue Cler area? Is it possible to take the suburban train (blue line) to St-Michel Notre Dame and transfer to the gold line to Pont de L'Alma? BTW we are 66 years young. First trip to Paris and London too.
Thanks,

Coming in via the Eurostar ??? Right ? Get a taxi. With 2 or 3 bags it is not worth the effort to save a couple of euro by hauling your bags on the metro.

Tony,
The term "chunnel" is not used, just FYI. Only we Americans trot that one out. As Frank noted, you are traveling by Eurostar and it is a very nice experience! We have done it several times, both directions.

We frequently stay in the 7th near Rue Cler and despite several trips to Paris and familiarity with the city, we always take a taxi from Gare du Nord to the hotel with luggage. The Paris Metro can require a lot of walking and stairs, no fun with luggage!

Have a wonderful time! Two of our favorite cities!!!

With that many bags, you'll need a taxi. The "gold" line (RER C) stop at Pont de l'Alma is still closed for some months anyway.

There are lots of stairs in the Paris metro and RER system.

Gare du Nord is rather well-known for its unscrupulous taxi drivers. Some dishonest drivers make their careers on runs from Gare du Nord. Even from the official taxi line, be careful about drivers attempting to charge you a fixed fee. Unless you are going to CDG or ORY, fares are whatever the meter says they are, nothing more.

You can arrange for private transportation through the SNCF and know in advance what you will be charged for a ride to your hotel. Estimates are free:

Always look for the official taxi queue at the station. Ignore wandering touts.

Google Maps has a similar function that includes walking times.
