Hi,
I’m hoping to find a rout from Avignon TGV (?) To Bordeaux...
Many rout connect through Paris w s change of station.
We have some disability issues. Would like a more direct, maybe only one change of train( not stations).
Arles or Nîmes??
Senior 1 st class if possible.
Thanks.
I've been in that situation before.
There is no high speed train service running like that from east to west.
I ended up flying Nice to Bordeaux.
There are 4 flights a day Marseille to Bordeaux that take less than 1 hour in the air. That might be better for you since Avignon is 35 minutes by train to Marseille
I don't know when you plan to travel, and options may vary with the day of the week, but I found two weekday departures from the Avignon Centre station that might work. You will not be on TGVs, so you will not need to go out to the TGV station. That's the good news; the bad news is that the trip will take over six hours.
The 9:38 AM regional-train departure (no 1st-class seats) would get you to Nimes at 10:09 AM. You'd then have a 1 hr. 15 min. layover before changing to the 11:24 AM intercity train that arrives in Bordeaux at 4:27 PM.
The next departure is at 12:11 PM, again on a regional train with no 1st-class seats. You would arrive in Nimes at 12:43. You'd then have a 43-min. layover before catching the 1:26 PM intercity train that arrives in Bordeaux at 6:26 PM.
You can explore options for the appropriate day of the week on the Deutsche Bahn website.
It looks as though the 6:30 AM train from Avignon Center will get you to Bordeaux by lunch time, with one change in Nimes.
