Going to be in Paris in late November and looking for advice on the best time to go up the Eiffel Tower. Sunset is around 5pm and I was thinking of booking a time for 3:30pm to have both a view of light and dark. Is that a good idea or should we just book a morning time and do a sunset viewing on the Arc de Triomphe?
We like to go up the Eiffel Tower just before sunset, and we also like doing the river boat cruise at sunset to see the sky change against the building & bridges.
We have done the Arc de Triomphe during the morning for some nice views of the streets and into the distance.
Before sunset would be a good idea, to see the changing daylight and the city lights coming on. Late afternoon would also probably be not as cold as morning. But a timed entry in the morning makes it possible to start your day at the ET and then move on to other sights, while an afternoon entry means you may need to adjust your sightseeing to be there at the right time.
Before sunset is a wonderful time to go up the Eiffel Tower. You have the advantage of recognizing the buildings you see while it is still daylight and also getting some beautiful sunset photos. Then you are there also when the lights of the city scape go on which is just magical.
Morning is often hazy. I would stick with 3.30 pm!
Thanks for the advice everyone! Ended up booking the 3:30pm time.
