I am booking tickets to the Eiffel Tower, to the Summit, on Tuesday September 25th. Wanting to know what ya'll think is the best time of day to go- Morning, Afternoon, Evening, After Dark??? We will be with my parents who are in their early 80's and although prior to this summer, they were in superb shape, Mom's emergency surgery and other issues have really aged them in the past 6 weeks. So she is a little slower and they get tired easier. So I would like to balance a great view for them, with the tempature (not to cold) and less of a wait time to get up there and less crowds. Some guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
In June construction meant long walks/detours to get to the security entrance gates. Then there will be standing in line for security, and standing in line for the elevator (even with tickets), standing in another line to go to the summit and then standing on the tower looking. Hopefully your mother will continue to recover from her surgery in the next few months and be up for this challenge. I would not go after dark (pretty hard after a day of touring).
I suggest mid- afternoon (3 pm). That would be perfect after a rest at your hotel.
Do they have their hearts set on going up the tower? Otherwise consider viewing it from the Trocadero. It will be far less physically demanding.
Also consider that in late September it won't really get dark until about 9:30 pm. That makes for an awfully long day.
Wow, I never would have thought about it getting dark different then what I am used to here in Florida. So many things to consider that you don't even realize about. Thank you.
I'm the sort who likes to do timed-entry things at the beginning of my day so I visited the tower around 10 am--this was in May, 2016, and it was great to not deal with crowding, no lines for restroom or food.
Sunset in Paris on September 25th is at about 7:40, not 9:30. To me, watching the sun set and the lights come on all over the city make it the best time to visit the tower.
I booked tickets yesterday for the 25th of September. What a coincidence! I chose the 7:30 pm tix as sunset is right about then and the full moonrise (Harvest Moon) is 8:15. I thought that to be a romantic way to end our 10 days in Paris. Oh, and my husband and I are in our early 60's and I have some mobility issues.
Just for you to have - go to www.sunrisesunset.com to get times for the places you will visit if you are doing any other things that might be influenced by whether you see during the day or at night.
Sunset is at 7:40. Actual darkness 9:30.
We had 5 pm tickets in May. When we came down they had stopped people going up from the ground because it was too crowded. Just something to consider.
