Best route to CDG - Paris airport

We (2 of us) will be traveling from Rue Duvivier to CDG airport in France this summer - in the morning. Does anyone have any advice if we should use a taxi, bus or train for the mode to get to the airport?

It really depends on how much luggage you have and how well you can manage it and whether you mind making transfers from one line to another, your budget, the time of day meaning are you traveling during rush hour, the day of the week and even how much you care about your carbon footprint. For most people, especially a twosome traveling from a spot near Metro line 8, my go-to suggestion is a taxi arranged the night before, which will cost 62€

Are you staying at Hôtel Beaugency? The Reception staff is well-versed in arranging airport taxis. Let them know the afternoon or evening ahead. I usually arrange for a pickup 4 hours ahead of my flight departure.

To me neither bus nor train are convenient from this location.

IF you are ending a Rick Steves tour here your guide may offer to match people up for taxi sharing.

Thank you for your reply. We will be easily travelling with 1 roll on and a day bag each. The flight is 9am on a Tuesday in June. I'm trying to balance the brain damage versus cost of getting to the airport. If we take a taxi, do they normally accept cc or is cash expected?

Yes Pam we will be staying at the Hotel Beaugency. We are staying 2 extra days, so while a good idea, I don't think many will have the same schedule as we do. If I'm taking a 9am flight to Bergen Norway, is 4 hours needed to board flight?

No, you’d not need to be to the airport 3 hours ahead.

You’re going to be spending thousands on your trip. Make it easier on yourself and budget for the cab. If you’re doing the 21 day Best of Europe which is the one that usually stays at Beaugency you may also be tired as this is a fairly strenuous tour.

Thanks Pam - check, cab to airport. We are adding 2 weeks to Scandinavia, so hopefully not too tired.
Is it best to use cash to the airport?

I'd order an official cab the night before and have the 62 in cash for ease -- that sum should be on the meter when you depart or 55 with 7 on the side. Cabs should take credit cards but they don't always do so -- 'machine broken' or other similar snow.

You might want to wait and see if any others in your tour group are staying on, as well. One of the times that we stayed at the Beaugency, there were four of us who stayed an extra two or three days, and the hotel arranged shared transport for us.

You have plenty of time to decide this; this is one of the things that can literally be scheduled the day before you leave Paris.

I agree with Jane, this can be done the day before you leave. I love the reception staff at Beaugency. They are so helpful and always follow through with things. IF something weird is going on that may disrupt traffic they will likely know and advise you on taxi times to the airport if it is different. The women in the daytime speak excellent English. The guys on the night shift are not as conversant but easily understand English.

I wouldn’t anticipate anything BUT you never know!

I usually use cash but that is just me. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to get cash in the neighborhood if you need it. Your guide will point out convenient ATMs.

I’d not say you’ll be too tired for your next 2 weeks but you might want a rest day. I actually did 3 back to back tours with the 21BOE. I added the Best of Paris, another week in Paris with a friend and then Village Italy.

Thank you Pam, Jane and Jane,

This was very helpful. Never been to Europe, so planning the small details. Hopefully 2 free days in Paris helps us reenergize for 4 cities in Scandinavia in 2 weeks.

Another vote for taking a cab. I was advised that some cab drivers will claim their credit card machine doesn't work (they say the same thing in Chicago) because they prefer cash, so I booked a cab a couple days in advance on the G7 app. G7 is a large tax company in Paris, and the app is much like Uber/Lyft. I was able to enter my credit card info right in the app. One tip - the app didn't like my Visa card, and I think it had something to do with Verified by Visa. But I tried my MasterCard and it was fine. The cab showed up 5 minutes early for our morning ride to CDG.

We took the Le Bus between CDG and Paris and really enjoyed it. Comfortable, wifi, inexpensive.

rizell, we also took Le Bus Direct this year from CDG to within a few blocks of the Beaugency, and also found it easy, pleasant, and affordable. I might be more comfortable with a taxi or bespoke shuttle if I had to make a plane, though.
