best route from Caen Normandy to Charles DeGaulle airport to avoid traffic jams

I have a flight out of CDG at 14:45 and would like to leave from Caen and avoid staying in an airport hotel (one never sleeps) Does anyone know the best route to take to avoid traffic jams?

You're driving from Caen to CDG on the morning of your flight? That's too far away from the airport for my comfort. Why not just drop your rental car in Caen, jump on the train and spend your last night in Paris? Get up the next morning and hop in a taxi to the airport.

I have tried many ways of doing this and you can spend as much time getting from the center of Paris to CDG as getting to Paris from Normandie. I wonder if an alternative route could work via Pontoise.....longer but avoiding the immense and unpredictable traffic jams.

I have often thought that choosing a route via Pontoise would be the way to go. Unfortunately, I did not follow that plan last year and let the GPS choose the route, which ended up going way too close into Paris, and was complicated in addition to possible traffic issues.

If you can’t sleep at airport hotels, then book one in Paris for that last night. You will have plenty of time in the morning to get to CDG by 11:00 or so, for your 14:45 flight. I really have trouble believing your statement that it takes as long to get to Paris from Normandy as it does to get to CDG from Paris.

Why not drop off the car in Caen very early on the morning of your flight and taking the train to CDG?

I do this trip often which is why I am looking for alternative routes...A13 can be a nightmare once you get close to the peripherique as can the peripherique itself depending on the time of day.The train would be the best option if I didn't have 3 suitcases(can't avoid as moving back to US)
