Greetings! Can anyone recommend where to get a complete portable/pocket map of Paris? Way, way back there used to be a small red map with individual pages of each arrondissement you could buy at the tabacs in Paris (30+ years ago, last time I was there), but I understand these are out of print. Is there an equivalent that can be purchased in Paris, or in the US? I would prefer a small book vs a foldable map, if possible. Merci!
We bought STREETWISE MAPS of the European cities for many years. They are laminated, fold to a nice size and are still in great condition.I bought them at Barnes and Noble including the Paris map.
The equivalent of the little red book still exists (it now is softbound and has a blue cover) and can be bought at many kiosks and bookstores. They have different sizes - smaller so easier to put in a pocket, or larger and easier on older eyes!!
Much more useful than a Streetwise map if you are looking for literally every street and especially anything out of the center of Paris.
Here is a link that shows what one version of it looks like - "Paris Pratique

Another Streetwise fan. The thing I like about the Streetwise is that it's laminated. If it's raining out, you can still use it then just wipe if off. Also, I get what was said about every single street not being in it, but the vast majority of streets that a tourist would be looking for are all there.
Alas, the OP literally asked for a map of all of Paris, and said they prefer a small book to a foldable map.
Paris Pratique meets those criteria exactly.
I have a Streetwise map as well as the map booklet that Kim provided a link to. While they both have their good points Streetwise does not include all of Paris.
I concur that the Streetwise laminated maps can be very handy and I have used the one for Paris several times. however, although I haven’t tried using the National Geographic city map for Paris, I ended up with both the National Geographic city map for Venice and the Streetwise version. The national geographic map was of great assistance when my phone died and I was far from my hotel in a confusing city.. the Streetwise was not as easy to read and the stiff folds gook up more room in my small handbag. I left it at the hotel counter for the next tourist . The National Geographic map has the advantage of being able to fold into a small space, is made of some sort of very tough paper, and really doesn’t wrinkle and is much easier to read the individual street and landmark, names. In short, I’m looking to get the Paris map from National Geographic soon. Regardless, of which you choose, I am now a big fan of carrying some sort of map as back up.
The question asked for best. How can best be determine? Or, is this a matter of suggesting the one map one has and been happy with?
My money is on Kim who lives in Paris, has seen or used multiple maps, hence her suggestion of Paris Pratique. My husband, born in Paris, still uses it. I use google but he get the bigger picture.
This is exactly what the OP described, and yes, it still exists, lighter, more comprehensive as the grand Paris has grown outward.
Thanks to all who weighed in! Really appreciate it.
