Best place to buy a SIM card with a local number

Hi there,

Should I buy a physical SIM card (not eSIM since my phone doesn't support) at the airport or should I wait until I get into town before doing this?

Also, any recommendations on the best SIM card for a 16 day stay in France with a reasonable data limit. I generally use it for travel research, I don't do social media.

Thanks in advance,
GF

Hello,
I’ve bought simcards from Orange, online through Amazon, for my last two trips to France, as my phone is too old for e-sims as well.
Buy it in advance and activate it just before you land.
There is one that gives you quite a few minutes for calls back to Canada if you need that.
I think I paid $50-60 CAN, and it was seamless with no problem for two + weeks.
It worked for roaming in other EU areas as well.

Orange has a booth just before the customs exit of terminal 1. Not sure where it might be in terminal 2, but stopping by and letting them setup your phone will mean you will have service as soon as you want to leave the airport.
