Best location to stay in paris for sightseeing.

Hi,

Presently i have booked a hostel with Hostelling international.
Below mentioned is the hostel address.(16th july to 19th july 2015)
Paris - Le d'Artagnan
80 Rue Vitruve,
Paris
75020
France

Can you please suggest is it a good location to stay and do sightseeing?

Apart from that in three days of my paris trip will it be ok to visit disney world for a day trip.

Your hostel is on the eastern end of central Paris, not far from Pere Lachaise Cemetery but some distance from any other sightseeing attractions you might want to visit. However, it's only about five blocks from the Porte de Bagnolet Metro station on Line 3. From there you can take the Metro anywhere in central Paris and do all the sightseeing you want in the time you have.

It looks like a nice neighborhood with high-rise buildings and good sidewalks, but not as "charming" as some of the more central -- and more expensive -- areas. If you have the energy to move around on the Metro, and maybe buses, you should do fine.

Whether to spend one of your three days going to Disney is your choice. I haven't been there and wouldn't be interested, but that's me and you're you. The RER "A" line goes there, and you can connect to that by Metro. Have a wonderful trip!

Probably not the most convenient sight seeing location, in the 20th arrondissement. Bit of a walk to the nearest Metro at Porte de Montreuil or Porte de Bagnolet. To get to Disneyland, take the Metro from Porte de Montreuil to Nation and then the RER A4 to Disneyland. But if the price fits your budget, why not?

You might have a look at one closer to central Paris. We used to pass this one on rue Rodier, called "Perfect", which it may or may not be. But the area is nice and there always seemed to be a few nice young people hanging about outside. It is in he 9th arrond.

Sam : Is disney land that costly. Any idea of one day ticket to disney land.

My main concern by asking about location is to know that, is my present location safe to move in night and early morning and obviously little comfortable to commute for sightseeing.

Thank you for ur reply.

A one-day ticket for just the single park, Disneyland Paris, starts around $80 US for one adult; they offer a variety of options to add Walt Disney Studios Park, as well. In comparison, a Paris Museum Pass for 2 consecutive days costs about $45. I have enjoyed both, but the time that I visited Disneyland Paris was during a longer stay, so I was able to fit in plenty of variety.

gems,

Another HI Hostels location you could have a look at in Paris is the Jules Ferry Hostel. I've never stayed there but it appears to be a nice area. The Hostel is located about the centre of a triangle formed by the République, Parmentier and Goncourt Metro stations, so access should be fairly easy.

Actually, if you go here: http://idf-parc.disneylandparis.fr/billets/index.html
and purchase in advance, you can get a one day one park ticket for as low as 47 euro (week days), or a one day two park ticket for 62 euro. You must purchase in advance (at least 24 hours), and then print the ticket at home.

Generator Paris will be a bit more convenient for sight seeing. The Colonel Fabian Metro station is just a couple of blocks away on the no 2 line that connects the Arc de Triomphe to the Nation interchange station. At Nation you can get the RER A4 to Disneyland. Ticket is 7.60 euro each way from anywhere in Central Paris. Many other stops along the line have connections to metro lines in to the center of Paris.
Food can be inexpensive to unlimited. Groceries at supermarkets like MonoPrix are reasonable. There are lots of small street shops with food of all ethnicities. Your area is very multi-national with lots of Vietnamese, Thai, Indian and Chinese shops and lots of inexpensive small bistrots.
The Canal Saint Martin is just a block or two away with very pleasant walks along side. I really like the 10th.

Just wanted to say that I have been to Disneyland. I didn't find it to be that wonderful.. Much smaller than Orlando, FL. When it rained, everything shut down. You need to come to Florida. It is so much nicer.

Thanks Sam, and everyone for your reply.

Sam, your suggestion and insight about the locality will surely be of great help for me when i am in Paris.
Hope you understand, when we travel alone, lots of good and not so good confusing thoughts go into the mind:-)
