Best area/arrondissement to stay with young children?

Hi, taking our 2 year old and 5 year old to Paris early May for 4 nights. What is the best arrondissement to stay in for a family? Looking for some place safe and convenient. Husband and I have been to Paris before but it was pre-kids and a long time ago!

Would also love any specific recommendations on hotels, apart'hotels, or legal VBRO/Air BnBs (having a hard time sorting through them on the websites to only show those with registration numbers!)

Much gratitude,
Gina

Stay near a park that has things for your children to do! Luxembourg Gardens has the main fountain with little sailboats that can be rented, a great playground, snack garden, and a puppet show. My son LOVED it here when he was small - I would take him there as a break in the afternoon and he would play and meet kids from all over the world.

The only thing to know is if the apartment has a 13-digit registration number.
Many AirBnB's have them.

Beware that AirBnB will "wipe the calendar" if the property owner's vacation time exceeds the 120 day period for his vacation.

I recommend these legal apart'hotels:
http://www.residencehenri4.com/en/ - which is in the 6th arrondissement on a quiet street.

/fr.hotels.com/ho482812/le-roi-de-sicile-paris-france/ - which is in the 4th arrondissement.

And Citadines Richard Lenoir which is in the 12th arrondissement and has individually controlled air-conditioning. Bastille market is just 2 blocks away, and Casino supermarket for other necessities. There is a playground, there, if your kids get bored shopping.

Thank you so much for these tips! I greatly appreciate it!

Also, we plan on mostly taking the bus and metro. If we do end up in a taxi, what are the rules regarding carseats?

Thank you!

I have never seen a taxi flinch at picking up a young child (2 plus) with parent to sit in the back in Paris or in the US regardless of any laws. Took taxis in Paris with our 3 year old daughter.
They sure won't want to pick you up if you plan on taking the time to install a car seat inside though may have to if at an airport official queue and you have a car seat in hand. But 2 car seats and 2 adults, I think they would come up with an excuse.
