best airport to provence

What’s the best airport I live in New York traveling to Provence in May June. How much is the best way to get to Provence from the airport. I was going to take a car service. I’m staying in a villa. And any travel suggestions while I’m there would of course be appreciated

Maybe you are looking for the Marseille Provence airport outside the city of Marseille with good ground connections to such regional spots as Aix-en-Provence and Avignon. The airport website contains plenty of information:

Or maybe not. The ciiy of Nice also has an airport with international connections. Your information is skimpy so it is impossible to know just where you are going or what you are looking for..

It's hard to say when you don't mention where in Provence, but Marseille is the biggest airport in Provence. Not served by any flights from the US, but has seasonal direct flights from Montreal. And is served by most major European airlines (Lufthansa, Air France, Brussels airlines, KLM, SAS, British Airways and Iberia) so it should not be hard to find a flight.

Nice might also be an option, as well as any airport within a reasonable train distance from your destination.

CDG. There are many direct flights from the New York area (EWR and JFK) and then a 2-hour or so train ride. Where in Provence are you going? That makes a difference.

You mention you are staying in a villa... so there is a 99% chance that you will need a car, and should rent one from the airport. Driving should not be a major concern in the region (Marseille urban area excepted but roads out of the airport are OK). As for Marseille vs Nice airports: Nice has a direct summer flight to JFK on Delta so that might be the best option.
However, please avoid driving more than 1-2 hours after an overnight flight from the US, for your safety and that of others.
