Prefer direct flight but will settle for one stop
That would depend on a lot of factors, not the least being your departure city.
Have you looked at available flights on kayak.com?
use the site you normally use to do a search; or google flights;
I found a good fare from JFK on Icelandair flying into Orly rather than CDG.
There are no airfare sellers on this board!
Since you live in New York State, check out non-stop flights from Montreal on Air Transat.
My last two flights and upcoming flight all worked best flying through Iceland. The last two were on Wow Air (CDG) and the next one is on Icelandair (ORY). Each has been roughly $500 round trip from DC. One of the nice things is that you do your Schengen customs/immigration at Keflavic (no waiting) during your connection, then can get off the plane in Paris and walk straight to the exit. Another nice thing is the flight duration is as good as any other one stop flight I've found. Planes to Europe fly across the North Atlantic (great circle route) anyway.
From JFK to CDGi normally pay about $500 non stop round trip. I use XL and Delta. I was happy with XL, no problems
