We are traveling by car and plan to spend one night in Besançon. Suggestions on where to stay and where to eat? Special sights?

We didn't stay there, but made a day trip. The Citadelle, with its museums and zoo, occupied the whole afternoon, and is definitely worth seeing. There's a little about Besancon in my blog: http://mainelywinenews.blogspot.com/search?q=besancon
