Beausoliel and surrounding area

We have arrived in Eze for the month if March and wondering where to go to for historic sites and
entertainment in either French or English i.e. theater musicals etc

We would like to go to the village of Eze Are there buses which stop in Eze sur Merweekly and on weekends? Where would we find the bus schedule.

Also any suggestions where too stay in Tende or on the bus route going up?

I presume you are not staying at a hotel or you could ask the front desk for information. Failing that, there is a ton of stuff on the web about Beausoleil and surrounds, and there is a Tourist Office in the town. I guess you didn’t have much curiosity before you arrived for a month’s stay.

I commend to you the tourist office in Nice. I used the one on the plaza right outside the Nice-Ville rail station. Those folks are very helpful, but you're going to have to help them out by asking for information about specific places. Did you really head off to southern France for a month without a guidebook? If so, you need to remedy that situation right away. I'm sure you can find one somewhere in Nice.

In addition to offering essential sightseeing information, a good guidebook will give you the name of the bus company serving the key routes (often also the bus number), the length of the trip and an idea about the frequency of service.

Warning: This is not remotely high season for southern France, so service will not be particularly frequent in some cases. You also need to be careful about the hours of museums and other places you want to visit. Some may be open as few as 3 or 4 days a week in March, or possibly not even open at all. There was a small museum I wanted to see that wasn't even open in May last year.

A lot of the bus service is provided by Lignes d'Azur. You should be able to find the schedules you need on its website, but the company has an office in Nice only a few blocks from the Nice-Ville station where you can probably pick up all the key schedule pamphlets.

For trips along the coast, the train will be faster. For those schedules, go to the SNCF website or use my preferred Deutsche Bahn. The latter will not tell you the fares, however.

It appears that there are two rail routes from Eze to Tende: one starts by going west to Nice and then through a bunch of tiny places I've never heard of; the other (I think an Italian train) goes east to Ventimiglia before heading north, again through a bunch of tiny places (some the same as on the first route). I don't know whether there's also bus service. The train ride is not so long that you would need to spend the night on the way, but there are of course a lot of pretty places along the Riviera.

The weather may not be so great in Tende.
