I am looking for train reservations in June from Beaune to Paris. The trains showing are a TER from Beaune to Dijon Ville (18 min) followed by a TGV from Dijon Ville to Gard de Lyon.
The issue is on pre-booking, there is an approximately 10 to 12 minute changeover time from at Dijon Ville. Hence , considering this shorter time , is it advisable to book the entire route or should we book a TGV only from Dijon and subsequently book a TER from Beaune to Dijon later (giving more time for the changeover).
P.S.: The former is a cheaper option.
A TER is a local, non-reserved commuter train whose price doesn't change, except for senior tixs 25% off (without a card) at non-peak hours. That's a euro or so. These tickets aren't sold on-line. So just wait.
Book the TGV only if its available today to get the best price. Like the previous poster said the TER trains are always the same price and frequent. You can book that separately with an earlier departure so you have a longer transfer
When we did the opposite route we booked the entire trip at same time. We did have longer layover in Dijon though, before transferring to Beaune.
