Hello! We are headed to Europe this spring, and are spending four nights in Beaune. Suggestions on things to do?
Pam - Beaune is the capital of Burgundy wine region so take a winery tour. Take a tour of Château de Savigny and Château de la Rochepot, visit the old hospice medieval hospital - Hôtel-Dieu , VEUVE AMBAL - boutique, and take a day trip to the town of Dijon. That should keep you occupied for 4 days. You might also like a hot air balloon ride over Beaune for an amazing view of the region.

Beaune is great, but if yo are going to stay four nights I hope you will have wheels. There's just not that much stuff to do within the city walls (though you will not exhaust the food!).
If cycling is your thing, I recommend renting a bike an d asking the bike place to plot you some routes.
We stayed 4 nights and felt it was barely enough time. Bike ride through the vineyards, visit some wineries in town, went to Dijon for a day, took a half day wine tour, walked around the walls of the city, watched the lights on the buildings at night, ate great food. We never even made it inside the hospital.
Rick Steves has great info on Beaune and suggestions for things to do there in his France guide book. Beaune is wonderful and no one here can give you all the good info Rick does.
Are e bike rentals available at the end of February or beginning of March. Any suggested vendors.
Hi bill, Bourgogne Evasions is showing availability on its calendar for bike rentals in in Feb, Mar, and on into Spring. They also offer guided tours which can be quite pleasant. You can rent helmets and other gear too if you wish. I've used them a couple of times for personal use and with friends from the U.S. and each time worked out just fine with no unpleasant surprises.
Quick edit -- I just noticed upon re-reading your question that you specified electric bikes. The bikes I chose were regular bikes, but they do offer electric bikes as well, based on the website link I provided for you.
Bill, you can Google for ebike rentals in Beaune and compare prices of different rental shops.
hey hey pam
haven't been to beaune but hear about it here a lot with people asking questions what to see and do. read about this article which i thought was cool and different. people like to see chateaus and this one is really different. talks about the 87 year old former race car driver and pilot who inherited it, his eccentric feelings of other motorized antique collections he has displayed on the acreage.

enjoy reading about something different to see on your time in beaune.

Beaune is a good base for the Cote d'Or region of Burgundy, but you'll want a car for at least some of your days. Beaune's best single sight is the wonderful Hotel Dieu. There are also tasting rooms for different wineries, allowing you to try a lot without having to drive. And we found the church and the wine museum worthwhile. Market day, once (twice?) a week would certainly be fun.
Dijon, with a very good art museum and medieval center, is about 20 minutes from Beaune by train, much easier than driving, a good day trip. But otherwise, unless you're really into bikes, I'd suggest day trips by car to places like Autun, Semour, Alise, Fonteney, and Vezelay. Look through a guidebook to see what interests you most about Burgundy. For me it's history and art, for many it's food and wine.
THANK YOU everyone! We DO have a car for the whole time we're there, I booked a bicycle/wine tasting adventure. Love all of the suggestions. My family and I are very excited!!!!
