Beaune - Cite des Climats et Vins

In researching for my upcoming trip, I found the Cite des Climats et Vins. Apparently, it's a rather new museum / educational facility about 2km south of Beaune old town. it doesn't appear in the 2026 RS guide book.

Has anyone been there? Is it worth going to if you have an interest in the vineyards and wine?

I can't help with the wine question , but whatever else you have in mind, don't miss the Hotel Dieu . The story of the hospice , and the Van Der Weiden triptych altarpiece, are fascinating. Also make certain to admire the polychrome tile roof , visible only from the center courtyard

I can highly recommend that it’s worth a visit! We were there in 2023 with our two kids, ages 10 and 12. Even they enjoyed themselves! Lots of interactive exhibits, in-depth education on terroir and various vines, excellent staff and very different if you’ve already been to the one in Bordeaux (we visited there as a family in 2019). There is a tasting at the end with kids-wine available as well.
