Fist time in France.. I can take a train from Paris to Bayeux and also want to go to MSM.. How do I get there.. I know nothing of bus or train schedules so just needing direction on where to look.. Only staying one night then need to head back to Paris.. I have no issue renting a car but is it necessary with public transportation..

We had a car and drove there from Bayeux, but it looks like there is a train.

MSM is lovely. Been there three times.
There are bus schedules, look them up on the Internet.

We stayed in Bayeux for 3 nights and did some day trips. One was an all day to Mont St. Michel - We went with Overlord Tours.....
but the Hotel Churchill in Bayeux has a shuttle bus that runs from their hotel to Mont St. Michel.
If you are only going one day - you could take the train to Bayeux and and find out from Hotel Churchill the hours of their shuttles to Mont.....
We did an all day tour to Mt. St. Michel and another all day tour of the beaches of Normandy. If you do the beaches, be sure to be at the American Cemetery about 4:00 when they lower the flags and play taps. (very moving experience)
Ours was 4:00 - because we were there in Feb. Summer hours may be later.
