Bayeux to Cochem Germany by train

Hi I am trying to figure out what web site to use for train tickets, SNCF or BAHN
And is Gare Du Nord the correct station to leave from for Cochem?

I have read a few good tips on getting to Bayeux, one was Cab from CDG to St. Lazare, then train to Bayeux
What would be a fair price for a cab?

I have taken the RER before and the only thing that is confusing is the transfer from Gare Du Nord to St. Lazare
is this correct?
TO GET FROM GARE DU NORD TO PARIS ST-LAZARE
From Gare du Nord, you could walk to the Magenta station (I can't remember if the route is all underground) and then take the RER "E" to Hausmann Saint-Lazare. When you arrive there, you'll have to walk to Gare St. Lazare A single ticket costs €1.70.

Sorry for so many questions that I am sure have been asked before

Thank you

DB cannot sell the domestic train ticket from Bayeux to Paris, so buy that locally or try SNCF (US credit cards not universally accepted). DB is the easier site for booking Paris-Saarbrucken-Cochem, or any other legs that touch Germany. Note that these depart from Paris Est station - they are ICE trains, not Thalys. Bus line 32 runs directly between St. Lazare and Est stations. (But I also believe your understanding of the Magenta station is correct.)

Taxis from CDG to Paris St. Lazare or any city-center location on that side of the river have a fixed price of 50 euros.

If you can get to Trier, a regular local train runs from there up to Cochem. I like Trier and think a few hours exploring the town and Roman Ruins is time well spent.

Note that the last two comments refer to the same route - the train from Luxembourg to Cochem calls at Trier.

As for a cab from CDG to Gare Saint Lazare, it should be a fixed rate or 50€ (go to the regular taxi line, don't accept a ride from people asking you if you want one). Personally, I taxi the RoissyBus. It leaves right outside of arrivals at CDG, and drops you off next to the Palais Garnier (7 minute walk from Gare Saint Lazare), 12€ per person, no stairs, no changes, and you get to see the city rather than tunneling under it.
