Bayeux shuttle to Honfleur

I have seen in posts that taking the train from Bayeux to Honfleur just for the day is rather time consuming. Has anyone used Bayeux Shuttle for their afternnon excursion? Their site indicates that for E65 one departs Bayeux at 1:45 and returns at 19:45 which allows three hours free time in Honfleur. Any recommendations for or against this service is appreciated as is your opinion on whether three hours in Honfleur allows one to see the highlights is appreciated!

Interesting. This must be a fairly new service because it didn’t exist a couple years ago when we checked for friends. The public busses take a few hours each way.,and there’s no rail service in Honfleur, so it’s nice that a shuttle now exists.

I have no experience with the shuttle. I think that would be the simplest solution if you don't want to rent a car.

Because of better transportation links, I spent some nights in Caen as well as in Bayeux. There are buses from Caen to Honfleur (and to other coastal towns). It's Line 20. I paid 12 euros for a roundtrip on the express bus last year. It takes only about an hour, whereas the regular buses take an unfortunate 2-1/2 hours. I was able to schedule the trip for a Sunday, when the express leaves Caen at 9:05 AM; the weekday schedule was not nearly as attractive. Here's the return schedule.

Unfortunately, getting from Bayeux to Caen by train on Sunday morning to catch the express bus would be somewhere between risky and impossible. The bus and train stations in Caen are very close together, but there's really not time to hop off the train and reach the bus before its departure time.
