Bayeux restaurant in town open Sunday

I can't speak from personal experience, as I haven't visited Bayeux yet.

We are booked there in early October though, and from research one of the most highly regarded restaurants is La Normande. It is rated no. 9 of 101 restaurants, so not too bad.

It is open on Sundays.

I ate at Moulin de la Galette. It appears to be open 6:30-8:30 pm on Sundays. I ate brunch/lunch there and had a galette. It's a charming place. I made a reservation; it seemed to be popular on Sunday for brunch.

In France, the days to check on restaurants are Monday and Tuesday. Every restaurant we encountered in 2 M in Bretagne was open on Sunday, but many were closed M-T.

I have found that often when a restaurant is open on Sunday, it closes earlier than weeknights. French families often have their main meal earlier on Sunday than other days. (Kind of like in the Midwest in the US.) They may gather in a restaurant with extended family at 1:00 or 2:00, spend 3 hours "a table", and the restaurant won't be open for evening meals. I have seen this more in smaller towns (I'm most familiar with Provence). In more touristy areas , of course, this may not hold true (the Riviera e.g). I haven't been in Bayeux on a Sunday, so don't know there.

On Google Maps, when you zoom in on a city and search for "restaurants," at the top of the map there are options like "Price - Rating - Cuisine - Hours."

By clicking on Hours, you can select Open on, choose Sunday, and click Apply at the bottom of the window.

One of the restaurants on the list is a brasserie: La Brasserie des Ducs.
It's the kind of place in France that's open every day with all-day service, reasonable prices, everyday-home-style cooking, not at all gourmet.

This is just an example; I've never been there.

We were in Bayeux in April - on a Sunday! We loved the Brassiere des Ducs. Big menu, local place, great food. Highly recommend.

We also ate at Le Moulin de la Galette. The place is very cute - although we found out we don’t really like galettes (and there’s not much else on the menu).
