Does anyone know how much to expect to pay for parking our rental car during our stay in Bayeux. A few of the hotels indicate 'public parking' is nearby, but no indications of how much it costs to park overnight. I know if we choose to stay at Hotel d'Argouges, we would be able to park on their property - I believe - with no charge? Thanks.
All the lots in Bayeux, except one, are pay lots that require two hour max parking "meters" during the day except during lunch time. You'd need to feed the meter during the day. The one free lot is behind the cathedral. That's where I'd park.
It has been already two years ago, so things can be changed in the meanwhile. But I parked my car for free at Avenue Georges Clemenceau, some 10 minute walking to the museum, a bit more will it be for the hotel. Ask the hotel for options: www.hotel-dargouges.com.
I was just there in September. We used the lot Parc Michel Ornano. If you use google maps, go to Bayuex France and it is on Rue Larcher a little south of the Cathedral. It was easy to get to and we were told it is the only parking lot where you can leave your car all day for free. I am not sure what the policy is for parking there overnight, but you could e-mail your hotel and ask them. It is a large parking lot, but fills up mid day. We left our car there in 2012 and 2014 when we did all day tours of D Day.
Thanks all for your help!
