Bayeux mid range dining recommendations

We will be staying in Bayeux for five nights in April. Looking for mid range $$ dinner recommendations for a quiet couple.

More focussed on comfortable atmosphere and quality fresh menu options.
Reservations recommended ???????
Thank you

La Rapiere was so good! Definitely the best meal of our vacation last October. If you want to go, get reservations as soon as they're available.

We liked our meal at Le Drakkar just fine , too. We didn't have reservations for that one.

In general though , if you don't want to eat take away pizza, I'd reserve wherever if you can because there just aren't a lot of spots at many of the places.

We really enjoyed le Moulin de la Galette. We also drove up to Arromanches Les Bains one night. It’s just a 15 minute drive. We went to the museum and learned about its impact on the invasion at Gold Beach that I was completely unaware of. We ate at La Marine restaurant and still remember how delicious my fish dish was!

Hi,
Went to Bayeux in November and had delicious meals at Le Drakkar and Le P'tit Resto. I'd recommend them both. My AirBnB strongly recommended Le Pommier, but it was booked solid and we couldn't get a table (a good sign, I think, since we were there mid-week in the off season).

Good luck,

We had dinner at Patenella which is italian food and had a great pasta/pizza meal. Our hotel concierge was hesitant to recommend it I think because of rude service issues but we went anyway and enjoyed our meal with no service complaints. We sat outside on the patio in back which was very nice so that may have made the difference. The patio area had its own entrance so we never experienced the inside. We had breakfast at les Volet Roses one morning and loved it! Very cute restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. It has a pretty small menu but everything was wonderful. We loved staying in Bayeaux and hope to go back someday when the Tapestry returns!

The last time we were in Bayeux (Oct. 2024) we ate at Le Volet Qui Penche. Very relaxed restaurant with great food that is right next to the canal. We also had breakfast at Selma Alabama during that trip. Great food and coffee. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed La Rapiere a lot!

We also enjoyed our mussels frites at Hotel La Marine in Arromaches.

Moulin Galette was a lovely atmosphere.

I notice most respondents are coming in with a higher-priced spot. I didn't think that was your question.

And, I'm sorry, but I don't know what "fresh menu options" means.

The restaurant at Hôtel Reine Mathilde isn't too bad for a lower cost meal. Service can be a bit inconsistent during busy times but the kitchen usually comes through.

Coeur de Sushi near Parking Place aux Pommes gives an interesting take how the French serve sushi.

With French restaurants, it's always better to have a reservation than to not.

Bob you are correct

We are looking for some less expensive style restaurants and or cafes for dinner in Bayeux. Prefer restaurants that make their meals with fresh local ingredients.. home made meals

I don't remember the name but it's a close to le Drakkar on rue St Jean but there's a nice creperie we didn't need reservations for, for lunch. And there are several pizza places that are yummy and not high priced if you just want to eat in the park. That's what we did most of the time.
