Bayeux before RS tour

Planning trip to WWII sites before RS tour using Rome2Rio but confused. We will take cab from CDG airport.
Do we go train station Haussmann St Lazare or to train station
St Lazare.
It is being shown as 2 different stations on website. We want direct train ( no stops at Caen) so do we buy train tickets ahead of time. If so where.
Coming back we need to go to Hotel Londres Eiffel—is this different station etc
Thanks, Gladys

Haussmann St Lazare is the metro (underground, subway, or whatever you prefer to call it) station, nearest to Gare St Lazare, which is the train station.

Ask taxi to drop you off at rue d’Amsterdam entrance at Gare St. Lazare. This will place you closer to the trains

When you get back to Paris, just take a cab from the St Lazare train station to Hotel Londres Eiffel. You'll have luggage and if you do the Metro you'll need to make a change from one line to another, then walk a few blocks from the Ecole Militaire station to the hotel. Print out the name and address of the hotel an tape it to a 3X5 index card. Just hand that to the driver.

If I am sure of what time/date that I want to travel, then my choice is to purchase my train ticket ahead of time. One less thing to worry about at the station. I used this site the last time we went from Paris to Bayeux. http://www.sncf.com/sncv1/en/passengers You can also purchase your ticket at Gare St Lazare before you board. As far as your hotel, I would suggest checking to see if you will be in the main portion of the hotel. On our first visit there, we were in the main section and it was great. Subsequent visit we were given a room in the annex and did not have a good experience.

"As far as your hotel, I would suggest checking to see if you will be in the main portion of the hotel."

If OP is meeting up with a Rick Steves tour they will probably not have any say over their rooms. I would also guess that since Rick's tours have used this hotel consistently for a number of years that they put folks in the main building.

I actually didn't realize they had an annex with rooms! Do you go thru the main building to get to the annex rooms or outside to a different building?

Paris by Train is a helpful website for all things rail. At the airport, tell the taxi driver you want "Gare St-Lazare," he will know where it is and charge you 50 euros. You can buy the tickets at the station before you get on the train, no need for a reservation or advance purchase. I doubt if there are any nonstop trains to Bayeux, but you may not have to change trains at Caen. If you do have to change, it will be easy.

When you return to Paris, you could take the Metro to the hotel but with luggage I'd suggest a cab. It will be cheaper than the airport ride because much shorter, and a nice introduction to some of the city sights and the river.

Pam,
It was in the back of the hotel, through the breakfast area. No window in the room; tiny little window in the bathroom that opened to an interior courtyard. Not a pleasant stay.

Travelbug, when you mentioned annex, I wondered if it was accessed by that small hall at the end of the breakfast room. Somehow I ended up sitting at one of those tables at the end of the room every day! It would drive me crazy not to have a window! If that room is used for tours, I'll bet it's the guide's room.
