Batobus in Paris

We are a group of seniors with one day in Paris to see the major sites. We don't mind walking and are thinking of doing the Batobus on the Seine to get us around. It looks more relaxing than going through traffic on a tour bus. Is the Batobus a good way to get around Paris or is there a better way?

Should we skip over any of any of the 8 stops and just focus on a few of the better ones?

If anyone in your group has a problem with stairs, I would definitely skip the Batobus. You have to climb stairs to get up to street level every time you want to see something.

If you want to see the city from the Seine, take a 1 hour tourist cruise with commentary.

Walking with an occasional bus or Metro ride will get you to the "sights" better.

We enjoy using the Batobus but definitely do NOT enjoy getting to the Batobus. Most of the docks are accessed by a flight of 20+ steps with no handrails. We also took a Seine boat ride using the Vendettes Pont Neuf (spelling?) - the ones that leave from the western tip of Ile de Cite. The sunset cruise was very pleasant - however, that also requires a descent of many stairs to access the dock, but at least those have a handrail. Recent information - we were in Paris last month.
