My husband and I will celebrate 50 years married (how could that be?) in 2023 on Bastille Day! We've been to several cities and towns in France on tours but are wondering where to go to let the city celebrate with us! We're considering Paris, of course, and Lyon and Strasbourg. Any other recent, pre-covid, experiences to share?

How about Marseille? We were there on Bastille Day in 2005--not so recent but many good memories. The parade around the old harbor was great; when the Legionnaires marched past the crowd roared. We went to a fabulous celebration dinner harbor side and watched the fireworks set off from boats and the old fort at the entrance to the harbor. One boat even caught fire!
