We have booked a boat from Vendates at Pont Neuf for the Fireworks. Can anyone comment on how good a vantage point that will be. Is there any other boat co on the river that would be better? We hope to do a bit of photo work and hope to have good local images in background, like the E Tower!
"E Tower!" ??
Oh god....
Hi there,
When we went we were by the Trocadéro. If you're specific about photos, I would go there, because the boat might be moving. I don't know if they stop on the river when the fireworks begin.
Best of luck.
Vedettes du Pont Neuf, actually. Be prepared to have every other passenger on the boat to be standing in your way with a large iPad as you try to do your "photo work".
Vedettes du Pont Neuf use much smaller boats than Bateaux Parisiens do.
I would get tickets for Bateaux Parisiens, because you might have a better chance of taking photos. Both boats stop while the fireworks are on, but they won't be very close to the Eiffel Tower, due to safety concerns.
I would get to the outside of the boat - if it is covered - about 20 to 30 minutes ahead of time to beat the crowds. The fireworks begin at 11 PM.
I would not go on a boat in hopes of taking good photos or a little movie. Instead, I would go cross the Seine to the area around the Avenue de New York, where you'll get a much better view, because the fireworks are designed to be seen from this viewpoint.
Of course, the weather may not cooperate, and the fireworks could be cancelled...
