I am heading soon to Italy to visit my husband who is working outside of Livorno. We are contemplating taking a ferry to Bastia, Corsica.
Can anyone give me advice about Bastia, what to see or do on a weekend? Is it worth the 4 hour ferry ride?

During my brief visit to Corsica, smaller towns and coastal scenery were my goal, so I didn't hang around Bastia or remember much about it. I picked up a rental car to drive around the point called Cap Corse over 3 or 4 days. That was certainly worth two ferry rides. While many car rental agencies in France are closed Sundays, Google says that the Hertz office here has both morning and later afternoon hours on Sundays.
