Hi all. What we want to do is about a week to 10 days in France, including a barge tour of 3-4 days in Burgundy. All suggestions greatly appreciated.

There have been quite a few posts recently since Rick aired the segment on barge cruises. Use the search function and filter to forum and then 6 months.
What type of barge did you have in mind? There are DIY barges where you do everything. Or you can charter the entire barge with a crew. Or you can book a cabin on a crewed barge. Most barge trips are for 7 days.
Here's a link to the blogs of Barge Lady Cruises, a Chicago based company that has been selling barge cruises in Europe for ages. We booked 2 cabins with them 25 years ago on a crewed barge cruise in Burgundy. Their website is a good source of information if you're looking for a small barge experience even if you don't book through them.
