Ballroom Dancing in Paris?

My husband and I will be in Paris in December and were wondering if anyone knows any places where we could do some ballroom/social dancing: think dances like waltz, foxtrot, rumba, cha cha, swing, etc. We dance every week at home, although we are still very much beginners, haha.

Last spring when we were in Paris, we did some salsa dancing at the Jarden de Tino Rossi along the Seine, but I’m sure it’s way too cold for that in December. I googled and found a place called Le Balajo, which seems to be mostly nightclub type dancing, They do list a “Tea Dance” on Monday afternoons, but the website doesn’t say what kind of dancing they have then.

Anyone know of places in Paris where we can enjoy some ballroom dancing, or know more about Le Balajo? We’ll be staying in the Marais area.

Balajo is a well-known, old institution that used to have ballroom all week long into the wee hours of the morning. Enjoy their one remaining tea dance.

Hopefully you'll gather more information on dances from other participants. There used to be several other dance halls on the same street back in the day.

Thanks so much for your response. So, the Tea Dances on Monday afternoons are the standard ballroom dances?

It’s the only event on their website where they don’t specifically list the dances they do, so I’m not sure.
That’s interesting that there used to be more dance halls on the same block.

I haven't been to Balajo since we used to go in the early 1980s, but I remember standing outside a few years ago and seeing that the dances, as we knew them, were now only in the afternoon. I can't guarantee exactly what they play, but it appears to be what you are looking for.
