We would like to take a day trip from Colmar France to Baden Baden in Germany. Public transportation.
What is the best way to do that?

Colmar to Strasbourg by train, change to little one car or two car train to Offenburg, Germany, change to train to Baden Baden and take bus into centre.
To return, do the same in reverse.
It isn't particularly easy.
By car is much easier.

For the adventurous, take the local bus to Breisach am Rhein, then a train to Freiburg changing to a train to Baden-Baden. See options at www.bahn.com.
