Back to Apt After Bastille Concert/Fireworks July 13

Read numerous articles, went to RAPT,fr for metro planning (did not show closures), know all about where to go for July 13 concert and fireworks, I just don't know how to get home to my accommodation!

With all the info I read I haven't found any info that explains when the metro opens up after the fireworks. I need to taken M:5 all the way to Hoche and I know the metro closes so need to make sure I get from the ET area to a metro ASAP despite the crowds.

Any suggestions. Thanks.

Due to the fireworks display, the following Metro and RER stations will be closed starting at 7:00 PM:

Metro Line 8: École Militaire station

Metro Line 6: Bir-Hakeim station

Metro Line 6: Passy station

Metro Lines 6 & 9: Trocadéro station

Metro Line 6: Dupleix station

Metro Line 9: Alma-Marceau station

Metro Line 6: Boissière station

RER C: Pont de l’Alma station

RER C: Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel station

Stations will reopen based on instructions from the Police Prefecture, so no specific time is scheduled.

In my opinion, the best approach is to leave the area on foot (heading east) to find an open metro station that connects to Line 5.

The Invalides metro station seems like a good option, though it depends on which bank of the Seine you are on after the fireworks:

If you are on the Right Bank, there are likely other possibilities.

Check the RATP website for possible routes :

If you are a walker, it’s a 30 minute walk to Ave Hoche, 2.5 kilometres, all on the west side of Paris. Many others will be walking due to station closures.

Given that Janet mentions the M5 metro line, I think she is referring to the Hoche metro station, not Avenue Hoche.

They don't open up the metro for a long time after the fireworks finish.

Unfortunately you are going to have to hoof it quite a ways before you get to any open station.

In looking at the closures JoLui has helpfully listed, if you don't go with the Invalides Metro entrance and are on the Left Bank, you can go to the Metro stop La Tour-Maubourg which is Line 8. It's on Rue de Grenelle which intersects the Champ de Mars so is an easy and direct walk. Take Line 8 to Republique and catch Line 5 from there.

The only time I have felt fear in Paris (and I have been tear gassed on May 1 -- annoying and painful but not fearful) was leaving the fireworks on Bastille day and attempting to get a train to where we were staying. It was so jammed that all I could think of us were the soccer stadium tragedies where people are crushed. We made our way out and walked the 5 km to where we were staying. The closest metros that are open are likely to be overwhelmed -- not something I would attempt again. If you are very far -- well eventually you will come to a metro far enough away that the station isn't crazy crushed -- but I'd not try to get on anything close in.

As I mentioned checked the RAPT app but when I tried had not closed/or said the train would not stop at that station. All the stations mentioned will be closed from the couple of websites/reports/blogs I checked.

My plan is to go to Metro Segur on the way to ET and since I have seen no reports that it will be closed, will take that after the fireworks. If there is a notice it will be closed, I will leave the ET after the fireworks for M: Duroc.

I actually made a big mistake upfront in not getting an apt closer to the ET rather than one almost the farthest away I could get!
