Husband and I will drive from Paris to MSM on Friday November 28. We plan to head to Bayeux the same day and are flexible on where we stay. Do not want to stay on the island.
At this time of year, is it fairly easy to find/stay at a B&B or hotel along the way?
I would like for us to hit the Bayeux market on Saturday morning (Has anyone been to this? Read it has food and vendors? Worthy?)
Even if it is just for an hour until the Tapestry opens and then see a few WWII sites. Staying? Flexible.
Sunday we drive to Honfleur for a couple of hours/lunch, Chambord, and stay ?? Driving in to Paris on 12/1.
I know how to research and do not expect you to tell me where to stay. Would just like to know if this time of year we can find arrangements depending on how much we end up driving each day.
Thanks so much.
I don't think you'll have trouble to find rooms available on short notice that late in the season. Even if not particularly charming, chain hotels like Ibis and Formula1 are well distributed. The car makes it easier to get to any/all options that do have space.
Do I read right that you are driving all along the Normandy coast from Bayeux to Honfleur, then after lunch all the way to the Loire valley and then see the biggest chateau of them all, Chambord, after you arrive?
After dark?
That's ambitious.
(from somebody who drives a LOT).
You might have better luck on Tripadvisor.com, Normandy forum. Lots of locals and Normandie travelers can help you with specifics.
mjm, is this a two way conversation?
