I recently traveled with a Rick Steves My Way / 13 days in France.
One of our tour stops was in Avignon. I highly enjoyed the Palau’s Des Pages in the city center, as well as the medieval stone ramparts. I would highly suggest that you visit Musee Clavet d’Avignon. After you visit the other two sights above, this is an excellent museum, which was close to our hotel, to see the life and culture during that era. The paintings and sculptures collected by Clavet are represented in the museum. It is a wonderful opportunity to really see the life of Avignon citizens. For me the experience in Avignon would not be the same without viewing this museum.
