I'm curious as to whether anyone has any experience running a leasing a Peugeut through auto France versus autoFrance we will be in France for seven weeks startin end of September. Looks like the price of leasing is the same from both of them for a Peugeot was wondering if there's any difference in terms of customer experience? Both companies were mentioned in the latest Rick Steves, France guide. thank you so much
Never leased with AE, but I worked there for 10 years and rent from them now.
Their customer service is superior to any other car rental agency and they are your advocate if something goes wrong. I don’t use anyone else.
They’re based in the good state of Maine too.
Another vote for Auto Europe who saved our vacation plans last month after someone stole DH's wallet with driver's license the day before we planned to pick up the car. (Luckily we still had the international driver's license.) Their rep spent two hours on the phone with us and the rental agent to get the problem resolved. Without her help we would have been up #$%@creek without a paddle.
We did a one month lease in France in 2022. We arranged it through AutoEurope. The car was Renault. And for the pick up and departure arrangements we dealt with only with Renault. AutoEurope is broker. But they were very helpful with questions about our lease in advance. And very clear about the terms and conditions. At least for our lease the terms and conditions were slightly different than a regular short term car rental, about deadline for cancellation, about window of time to pick up and drop off, etc. so do be sure you understand. But our service from Renault arriving and departing from Marseille airport was also very good. We didn't have any issues with this lease, so I didn't have any reason to deal directly with AutoEurope otherwise. But I almost always use AE to rent cars and it's because I have always heard of the excellent customer service they have if you run into any problems, for example pushy rental car desk insisting you take other optional services.
If you have anything go wrong, being about to contact help quickly and in English (unless you speak French), gives Autoeurope a huge advantage over other brokers.
We did a lease with AE in 2006 and we also use them for rentals. We have always been happy with their service. I agree with the poster who points out that you can get help in English if necessary with AE rather than deal with people in another language.
Many things to everyone for the consistent message and feedback on your positive experiences with AutoEurope. yes it’s going to be critical that we have customer service available in English since unfortunately I speak very little French

Hopefully you will have no need for customer service. I have rented 10+ cars and only had to call once while I was in Europe.
cmcg,
We always use Auto Europe to find a car, and have gone with different car companies depending on location, price, etc. (France, Spain, Italy). Service has always been great, choices as well. We have leased a car through them one time and were happy with that also.
Auto Europe, Auto France, Kemwel, Auto TT and maybe others offer the leasing option. We did this a few years ago through auto TT and it was a great experience, though the pick-up and drop-off in Marseilles was a little weird. Definitely worth looking into if you will be travelling for a month. Car must be both picked up and dropped off within France at an approved location. The cars are brand new when you receive them and FULL insurance is included in the price. I highly recommend this option if it works for you.
Peugeot is my favorite automotive marque not characterized by a 3-letter acronym starting with "B" and ending with "MW." I know they don't drive similarly, but BMW is IMO the best at driving dynamics, and Peugeot the best at driving comfort. It's just so easy to drive a Peugeot.
