Auto Museum in Reims?

bonjour all,
I'm filling out my 36-hour, two-night, stay in Reims.
my busy Wednesday includes the farmers market in the morning, then champagne cave/tasting, followed by the WW2 surrender museum.
I'll be sure to visit the cathedral and Carnegie Library in prior the evening or following morning.
has anyone been to the subject auto museum in Reims?
RS is silent on this venue, but it looks like a fun, nearby visit after my noontime champagne tasting.
Sante!

I was there about 6 weeks ago. It's very interesting. There are approximately 100 old motorcycles, going back over 100 years. There's a huge collection of model cars, every scale imaginable. There's a whole section of kiddie rides. And then there are the cars, lots of them. Makes I've never heard of. One-of-a-kind stuff. Mainly French, but there are some other European makes, and even a few from USA.

It's not an especially inviting building, and you have to pay attention, or you'll drive past it. Park in the courtyard. I think it cost 7-8 euro.

If I have one major issue, it's that many of the display vehicles need attention. Dust, rust, flat tires, etc. But it's not a flashy, media savvy, display. It's obvious they just don't have the budget, and there were not a lot of visitors when I was there.

They do have a selection of cars for sale, both inside and at the back of the courtyard.

All in all, it's definitely worth a visit.

Do you have an idea about the time you will visit Reims? Know that the Museum of the Surrender will be closed for renovation from 12 May 2025 and if everything goes according plan will reopen March 2026.

Good to learn about the museum. I have once visited the remains of the pit buildings of the once famous Reims-Gueux race track. They are still there a bit in the middle of nowhere along the D27 between Gueux and Reims. As far as I can see with google maps there is no bus stop there, think you need a taxi if you want to see the place. https://www.amis-du-circuit-de-gueux.fr/contact

just a follow up...
I did visit the auto museum after my champagne cave tour. It proved to be a pretty basic display, nothing fancy, as it's a private collection from an old industrialist.
However, at 10 euros, if you are interested in many French makes and models from the 1920's to 1980's then drop by.

I since learned that there is an auto museum in Brussels, but that didn't fit my schedule that day, as I was touring the EU Parlement (I know, such a fascinating itinerary!)

Thanks for the follow up.

Those small museums can nevertheless being basic really interesting, so always worth to put under attention. Your visit does remember me to my visit to the car museum in the Château de Compiègne, north of Paris. A bit basic too, but with cars from the earliest period in France I enjoyed it very much.

I have visited once Autoworld, the museum in Brussels and certainly worth a visit to my opinion. Part of the collection are a few Minerva cars, a top marque at the time with a workshop in Antwerp. But went bankrupt as happened with so many car makers.
