Hi. We are thinking of staying 2 nights @ holiday Inn on Rue de Damremont a few blocks west of Sacré-Coeur Basilica near Place de Clichy Metro station. We need 2 triple rooms and want AC, so options are limited. Is this area safe? What is the atmosphere like? We will have 3 teens with us, so don't want to be in a red light district, etc. We will be taking the train at Gare Saint Lazare one day for D Day beaches and touring around Paris, Louvre, etc. the other day. This area looks convenieint to walk to Lazare in the AM, yes? Are there any negatives that we should know about? Any good bistros?
