Assumption Day 15 Aug in France

I dont want to make assumptions about Assumption Day so asking the forum... we are staying in Paris a few days prior to Assumption day and the current plan is to leave Paris by Train to Bayeux on 15 Aug which is Assumption Day. Do trains run on that day, limited schedule and would they be packed? Thoughts on the Best time to leave Paris and when we should arrive Bayeux... would Bayeux be a ghost town and nothing open including restaurants and cafes. If we leave later from Paris is anything open in Paris that day? I have no idea how much France shuts down for Assumption Day.

On 15 Aug, trains will run on a Sunday schedule. They will be somewhat busy but not packed, many people (myself included, my company's closed that week!) will have taken the entire week off. And Saint Lazare Station will be much quieter than usual. Still I'd recommend booking a ticket in advance.
Some restaurants and cafés in Bayeux will be closed (basically like on a Sunday night), but some will be open, you won't starve. And most places in Paris will not be affected.
