Here are the current measures:
France is enlarging its booster dose campaign to all adults 18 years and older; when the person is five months out (vs. 6 months) from completing their initial vaccine scheme, they will automatically be eligible for a booster dose of mRNA vaccine.
Adding to the announcement made earlier this month that as of December 15, the pass sanitaire of persons 65 years old and older will no longer be valid if they don’t have a third dose, France institutes a similar requirement for all ages 18 and up as of January 15. As of January 15, if someone in that age group (18 to 64) doesn’t have a third dose and is seven months or more out from the completion of their vaccination, their pass sanitaire will be invalid.
Also to note - up to now, a negative Covid test would get you a pass sanitaire valid for 72 hours. Now those health passes deriving from a negative Covid test will only be good for 24 hours.
As of tomorrow, masks will again be required everywhere inside, even where the pass sanitaire is required to enter (in these places, once you had showed your pass sanitaire, you didn’t have to wear your mask. Now it will be required). Leaders of each French departement can make the decision on whether to require masks OUTSIDE and in which conditions; however, masks and pass sanitaire will be required to access Christmas markets.
