Art Classes in Paris for Kids

We are interested in an inexpensive and fun little art class/lesson for our kids ages 12, 11, 9 in Paris. There are no recommendations within the book. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

Kelly, more information, please. Are you looking for a one day only class and with English instruction? And are you looking for hands-on instruction or child-centered tours?

honestly, unless your kids are fluent in French I doubt you will find anything ..

Why not hire a guide to do a child centered tour of the Louvre.. we used Iris from Pariswalks when I took my 11 yr old daughter.. Even though I had been to Louvre many times before I found her tour fascinating and she can cater to children..

With all due respect, to me this doesn't sound like a great option. It may sound like fun (to you), but even if you could find something tailored to foreign visitors (do such things really exist?), I'd question whether this is really the best way to utilize a very limited commodity - that is, a day in Paris. Your kids can take an art class at home much more easily (they do eixst), where there's no language barrier, and not the same time-pressure, and I'd venture they would get a lot more out of it. If you're hoping that they would gain a deeper appreciation for art they will see on a trip to France, maybe some sort of an art history class at home, before the trip, would benefit them - but for most youngsters (and a lot of adults), that may be a tall order.

When we were in Florence this past summer, we found an art school that offered a class for kids for a nominal fee. We spent about 1.5-2 hours there. My kids loved it! A real "artist"/instructor offered advice and guidance as they created their own masterpieces. We have wonderful memories and keepsakes. I was hoping to find something similar in Paris.

If you find something similar please let us know as I am sure others would love it too !

How did you find out about the one on Florence ?

Do consider the tour of Louvre , it makes it come alive for kids ( and adults ) . It's not cheap but it's priceless . My grandmother got me a private tour of the Louvre when i was 13 and it started a life long love of museums

This isn't an art class, per se, but it might be fun - and it's in English:

And here's the courses offered by the Louvre for kids. English isn't mentioned, but kids can mimic what the others do without much trouble:

Both these activities require reservations in advance.
