I love the little town of Arromanches in Normandy. It has the remains of a D-Day artificial harbor just off the beach and a wonderful little museum that explains it all and more. It just so happens that the BING page today provides an aerial view of the artificial harbor. So cool! I'm not sure this little town is on everybody's radar.

I agree, jules! We visited this spring and were wowed by this bit of history, something neither of us knew anything about despite feeling we both understood the Normandy Invasion. And Arromanches would be a lovely town to stay in!
