Arromanches for a day from Bayeux

Going to Bayeux in 2 weeks - Is there a way to get from Bayeux to Arromanches without a car and once in Arromanches can you walk and see the sites?

Yes there is a bus 74 that you can catch outside the train station. Great for the independent budget traveler.
You are free to walk to see that area.
You just have to familiarize yourself with the bus schedules going back to Bayeux so you know how much time you have.
The bus going is at 12:25 the last bus is at 18:07. But this may differ on a Sunday or holiday periods,

I will say that in general, bus or other public transportation in Normandy is extremely limited. It simply isn't big city travel, and you are much better served with a rental car. However, once you get to Arromanches, yes—you can walk to most sites you would want to see. The best is the beach itself. The remains/ruins of the artificial harbor are strewn about the beach. And right next to the beach is the wonderful, although small museum about the artificial harbors ("Mulberry Harbors"). Walking up the hill from the town, there is Arromanches 360. A circular video that gives a wonderful overview of the battles in the area. The walk up the hill is also very nice, with tanks, plaques, etc., en route. Plus, from this museum, there is a bluff from where you can see an amazing view of the huge artificial harbor (much of it is far out at sea), and a few, limited German gun emplacements.

Lastly, one of my favorite webcams is the one (actually there are several) located at the Artificial Harbor Museum. I used to go to this site when I couldn't get to Normandy itself. Keep in mind the 6 to 9 hour time difference from the U.S.:
