arriving really late in Paris from Venice?? 23:25 on a Saturday -getting into Paris and to hotel?

My friend booked us these crazy late arriving flights on Easyjet?? beginning of October!
looks like there is a Train that leaves at 23:50 but that is the last one and cutting it close :-(
she is going on another train so it will be just me ---
trying to find a recent train schedule for 'weekends'
any suggestions -hate to spend a bunch of $$ on an airport hotel

thinking about just staying in the airport until morning?

I'm confused. What is your question?

The Ibis at the airport is not expensive and is an easy walk. I would do that instead of stress about the train, connecting transportation to hotel, and wandering in Paris alone in the early AM.

Also, smaller hotels don't usually have 24 hour desks (but Ibis does). You may not be able to get into your central Paris hotel.

CDG airport...sorry if I wasn't clear ...worried about plane arriving so late 23:30 since I am coming from Venice I should have to go through customs? right ...I will just have a carry on but everywhere I have looked says the last train leaves at 23:50 --that seems very tight even if we arrive on time (also this is a Saturday and I couldn't find a weekend schedule) ... does anyone know of a good website or other ways to get from airport (is there a bus that runs after midnight?)
thanks

Are you only going to be at Paris for one night? If so, then spring for an airport hotel room. If you're going to be staying in Paris for a longer time, see if you can arrange a late arrival at your hotel and spring for a taxi from the airport. Either of these options will be worth a few extra € for the convenience.

You will have to get a cab into town which will cost roughly 50 Euro. I would not stay at the airport if you are actually coming to Paris as no point in futzing around in the morning and wasting half your day getting into town -- make sure your hotel has reception at 12:30 and take a cab and get settled.

I will be staying in Paris ...wonder what Easyjet is thinking having such a late flight?? -- guess I will have to just decide what my best option will be
thanks for the input

Venice to Paris is a domestic flight -- no immigration and no customs. If you can't catch the last RER into town take a cab. If you have 10 Euro in coins you can get tickets from a machine quickly for the trip into town on the RER.

wonder what Easyjet is thinking having such a late flight??

Destiny,

Easyjet provide flights at times that people want to take them.

Your friend probably had a reason for picking such a late flight. Perhaps your question should be "why did my friend choose such a late flight". Maybe she wanted a whole day in Venice instead of leaving for the airport after breakfast.

It takes around an hour to 90 minutes to get to Marco Polo airport from somewhere in Venice if you have everything lined up and you have to be at the airport around 90 minutes to 2 hours before the flight. So if you flight lands (if it is on time) at 23.25, leaving Venice around 22.25? you need to be leaving for the airport around 18.00?

Maybe she thought that gave her enough time for other stuff to do, or maybe you wanted to do something. Maybe it was the cheapest flight that day (although if you need an extra hotel night it starts to get a bit more expensive. It is all swings and roundabouts.

That Ibis hotel is looking better and better...

Because Easyjet offer something to you doesn't mean you have to take it.....

Thanks Nigel... I talked to her and she just chose the cheapest flight she saw without thinking about it plus I think that the 'military time' confused her because when I mentioned that that the flight arrives at 23:25 she didn't seem to know what I was saying... probably will spend the money and stay at an airport hotel
thanks to everyone for all the help

Unfortunately the money saved will be spent on the hotel (and it will be more expensive than what you could get in Paris) and the time wasted in the morning. Bummer.

So, how much would it cost to change those tickets to an earlier flight? May be cheaper than the alternative.

It might be worth binning those tickets and getting a flight that better fits your needs. Easyjet lets you change the flight by logging in (if you bought from them direct) but they charge €42 pp online for the change plus the difference in fare. Since your tickets cost less than the penalty you are better off buying new tickets and cancelling the late arrival tickets. You can claim the aviation tax paid by use of a form. Expensive lesson, but there is still time to improve your situation.

At this point there are the following available on Saturday the 3rd of October. (Is that your date)

Easyjet
VCE Marco Polo to CDG
1320-1505 but €70.49 pp
or your flight 2140-2325.

or
VCE to ORY Paris Orly
0925-1105 €56.49 pp
1610-1750 €63.49 pp
2050-2225 €43.49 pp

but the hotel at the airport would hopefully be less than the hotel you would have paid in Venice that evening?

Nigel makes a good point, you could still change your tickets. unfortunately with EasyJet this is liable to cost a little bit. I guess you have to determine whether you would pay more to change the tickets than the difference in your hotel cost if you have to stay at the airport vs. being able to go into Paris that evening.

I don't get what the big deal is. Paris is just coming alive at 23:35. Just verify that someone will be at the desk to let you in. Since you're by yourself, take a taxi-- but I guarantee you my husband would have us on the last RER-- and go on into Paris. This is a big city and the sidewalks don't roll up. Not a big deal. We used to walk miles and miles across Paris when the dance halls closed at 4:00 a.m.
