Arranging Transport from Viking River Cruise Port in Avignon to the TGV Station

Our Viking Rhone River Cruise ends in Avignon on Sunday, May 5, and we need to hurry over to the TGV Station to catch the only non-stop, direct TGV Train at 8:45 AM to Frankfurt.

Thanks for sending your successful real life experience!

I would be surprised if you were off the boat in time. Perhaps they will be able to let you off extra early.
I would call Viking and ask if it possible for you to make that train.

Our Viking cruise ended in Bordeaux last year, but they’ve done things the same way on the 3 cruises we’ve done with them. A day or two before the end of the tour the cruise director will ask for travel plans and then they line up transportation based on that to make sure you make whatever reservation you have. We were at the station in plenty of time to make our train.

What time are you scheduled to arrive in Avignon?

We called Viking like Suki so helpfully suggested and our Boat arrives in Avignon the night before.

We found out the TGV Station is less than 10 minutes away by taxi so our hopes are high and our worries abated. Thanks !!

For a little extra assurance, the TGV station is easy to navigate, with one track in each direction. The platform should have a diagram showing where to stand to meet your train car as it pulls in.

Thanks for that reassuring info on the TGV Station set up. It really helps to get first hand guidance.

Your empathy is much appreciated!

Cheers,
