My husband and I will be in Provence for a week. We will be staying near Arles over the Easter holidays. We have been in Provence before but I am not sure what will be open for visiting on Easter Sunday and Monday. We have dinners planned and will have a car.
We prefer to visit sights fairly close to Arles as we will be staying farther north in Provence beginning on Tuesday. We will also be visiting Avignon on Wednesday. We have plans for the Saturday before Easter and we have wine tours arranged. We have been in Nice over Easter and spent a delightful day in Villefranche sur-Mer. We would like to visit Les Baux. Any suggestions?
Les Baux would not be affected by the holidays - larger crowds perhaps, but that's about it.
Unsure about monument schedules in Arles itself but I would be surprised if there is any impact (besides churches on Easter, which might be tricky to visit), because Easter Monday is not a major holiday. A relatively nearby monument which is definitely not affected is Pont du Gard.
We loved Les Baux. Definitely worth a visit.
How about visiting the Camargue on Easter.
Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer is beautiful. Highly recommend the Camargue area.
Thanks for the good ideas.
