Are all our Paris folk ok?

I understand that the explosion could be felt in several arrondissements and heard in still more.

If you are a regular here from Paris, or visiting it at the moment, I'm thinking about you - and hoping that you weren't in the wrong place at the wrong time...

especially as it was not far from places folks frequently go

Oh my word...how awful. Yes, thinking about anyone who might be in Paris at the moment!

Terribly scary, and so awful for the firemen. Awful as well for the families who were in bed still or going about their morning business and turned upside down. According to French press, the one “civilian” death was a Spanish woman visiting Paris with her husband. The scenes of destruction are just awful, and to see the video footage of helicopters life-flighting victims within Paris, that's just something that I’ve never seen before. A true tragedy.

And sadly this morning, news comes of a fourth death, of a young woman who lived in an apartment above the bakery.
