Hello all, I was wondering if any of you fine people have done a séjour in Arcachon? I will be in Bordeaux for work till mid July and my significant other and I have decided to do 3 days in Arcachon before going to Dordogne for a few days. My research has lead me to Hotel le B, but I was wonderinf if anyone had any personal experiences in a hotel there.

Alexander, after reading so many wise posts of yours over the years, I can’t believe I have something to share regarding Arcachon. Hôtel le B is right in the middle of everything, for just 3 days, it might be the most convenient, particularly if you don’t have a car. The Bassin will be very busy, private boats, ferries, etc.
The Jetée Thiers is close and the ferry can take you to Cap Ferret, charming architecture and close to Atlantic beaches. If you have a car and budget, the Cap would be my first choice, but you may have a better rate for Hôtel le B.
I called some friends who have a family second home there, and they had nothing negative to say about the hotel. other than the Casino nearby.
Speaking of restaurants, be judicious with the local oysters in July. A regional specialty with the tiny sausages…but even the freshest of local oysters can be milky and potentially difficult to digest.
