Arc de Triomphe under construction?

Hi,

Is it really under construction? I could not find any info about it including on its website but perhaps I miss it or it's not been updated yet. I only saw one review from TA a pic of it under construction in June 2015 BUT there's another detail of construction just took place on early 2014 in Wikipedia. One of dearest member here, Sandra kindly told me about it as it's mentioned in the Paris Museum Pass. If it is under construction, I wouldn't waste my time heading there and perhaps going to Trocadero instead.

Anyone could clarify this for me?

Cheers

Under construction? I thought they finished building it a long time ago (1836)!
I don't know what you mean by "its website", but the official website I found, http://arc-de-triomphe.monuments-nationaux.fr/ doesn't mention any closures. There may be some scaffolding outside for renovations.

The most it can be "closed" is for access to the roof. It can still be seen from outside and walked around, so it is still worth a visit.

I found two webcams, here: http://www.viewsurf.com/univers/ville/vue/10366-france-ile-de-france-paris-arc-de-triomphe
and here: http://www.mylivestreams.com/webcam/arc-de-triomphe-live-streaming-webcam-in-paris---france/10323.html
and neither show evidence of scaffolding or other building work.

I was there in late May and saw no evidence of scaffolding. The routes to the roof were also open.

We went up the Arc de Triomphe last week. No construction, no signs that any construction was planned. All was normal.
