April in Paris—Hotels in the 6th

We are 2 women traveling to Paris for the 1st time in April. We’re staying for 4 nights, trying to budget under $500/night and appreciate French charm (as opposed to modern decor). Have narrowed it down to the 6th and looking at these hotels:

1) Hotel l’aubusson 2) Hotel Parc Luxembourge
3) Hotel de l'Abbaye

Any others we should consider?

Would appreciate your thoughts, experiences and tips, including room specifics/requests we should make and hotel promo codes that you know about.

Thanks all!

None of these hotels have twin beds.
There are single mattresses made up to make double beds, but I don't know if the staff could do anything about the headboard situation.

I suggest the Quai Voltaire Hotel, which is in the 6th arrondissement, and offers you a really stunning view of the Louvre, as well as twin beds. Meets your budget, too.

I also recommend Hotel du Quai Voltaire. It’s above my budget but I caught a great sale once. Fantastic view from the rooms with balconies on the 4th floor. They have twins or you could get 2 rooms for your budget. Be sure to request a room on the river side with a balcony.

With the windows closed it was amazingly quiet. I have a great memory of sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the sunset, Paris spread out below with the boats on the Seine passing by lighting up the buildings including me 🤗

Easy walk to the Louvre and to Notre Dame.

My family of four stayed at the Hotel D’Aubusson in November’s 2016. We had a superior room connected to a junior suite. The room for the children (the superior room) had separated twin beds. We loved it there. We booked the rooms through Hotels.com because the rooms were significantly cheaper there than at the hotel's website, which is the opposite of what I usually see. I have also stayed at the other two but do not know about the twin bed situation. Of the three and mindful of the passage of time because the other two (assuming you mean Hotel Luxembourg Parc on Rue Vaugirard) were quite some time ago, the Hotel D’Aubusson is my favorite. It’s big negative for us is that it has no in-house gym which is not great for a top property. I skipped working out and my husband walked to a nearby gym that has a relationship with the hotel so problem solved. We enjoyed Cafe Laurent for its cocktails. The music is good but I generally like a little hipper vibe in a live music place. If the gym matters, Hotel Luxembourg Parc has one. Hotel de l’ Abbaye does have a lovely bar/lounge area and a very nice outdoor area. All are very good choices, IMO. If you switch the order of the second two, you have the hotels listed in my order of preference.

Or, you could stay in this hotel, with exposed beams, exposed stone and all the charm you can handle. Suits your budget, too.
Twin beds, free breakfast, and very close to everything you want to see - including great transportation via Odeon Metro station and buses. You can walk to most anyplace from here:

If you go to any official hotel website, there are often great deals waiting for you.

I am also going to be in Paris for the first time with two friends in April. We have reservations from the 17th through the 22nd at the Hotel Quai Voltaire. We reserved a triple room 3 twin beds. Chose it for the location and access to everything. Maybe we will run into each other at the bar if you choose to stay there

The Hotel Saint Andre des Arts is not in the same league as the hotels that cherithbc mentions initially not just because it is significantly cheaper but also because it has no elevator, does not offer room service and IMO is a bit rundown.

Does not have room service - tell me which budget hotel has?
Most have serve breakfast in the downstairs lounge. The hotel has been renovated, recently.
The OP wanted charm, well, this is what she wanted.

Great recommendations!

Any other tips to make our trip special? We plan to visit the Lourve, Musee d’Orsay, Musee Rodin, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower-including a meal at Le Jules Verne (is it worth the cost?), a cruise on the Seine, lots of walking and cafes, a trip to Fauchon (or some food emporium for special spices or other food products to take home), plus I’m starting my list of French beauty products to buy.
Love all the ideas so far—look forward to more!

"Does not have room service - tell me which budget hotel has?" I did not know the OP was looking for a budget hotel. I thought based on "trying to budget under $500/night" that she is looking for a hotel that cost under $500 night for a room for two or two rooms, which is totally different thing that looking for a budget hotel. Plus, it's not like the hotel that she is looking at are exactly Budget properties.

The OP is way over their budget, if she thinks that she can get a room in the 6th for less than 500 EU...
